About Rich Paces

First and foremost, I am a Christian and a fiscal Conservative.  I am a proud member of the Republican Party, and I fully support their stated priorities.  I’m an engineer and my background includes over 36 years of experience in the upstream oil and gas industry, with 16 years in executive management roles.

I have been serving my community:

  • As your Precinct 2 County Commissioner for the last 3 years;
  • As President of the Chapter 391 Sub-Regional Planning Commission leading the fight against Battery Energy Storage Systems invading Kerr, Kendall and Gillespie Counties;
  • As a volunteer firefighter with Center Point VFD;
  • As the current President of the Center Point Area Historic Preservation Association;
  • As an active member of Hosanna Lutheran Church, where I am part of their Bread of Life mission and I coordinate their Adopt-a-Highway program; and
  • As Director and Treasurer of the Hidden Hills Ranch Owners Association.

I’m running for re-election to continue to serve Kerr County and to finish the things that I started such as helping residents and businesses rebuild and recover from the tragic July 4th flood, and ensuring that an effective Flood Warning System is in place, that people know what to do so we never experience loss of life in future floods. I want to finish what I started in the fight against BESS. I also want to finish the AG Barn upgrades I started and deliver them at half the cost of the original $8 million bond proposition.  And of course, I will continue to advocate for keeping your property taxes as low as possible.

The July 4th flood tested all of us and you should ask candidates what they have done to help our residents recover from the flood. Were they out at 6:00 am knocking on doors to warn people to get to higher ground? Did they help with the search and rescue efforts? Did they help with debris clean up?  Did they help procure the services and supplies needed?  Did they go door to door conducting welfare checks and getting help and information to flood victims?  Did they help anyone get financial assistance? Rich Paces did all those things.

Kerr County needs strong leadership and right now we need continuity. We need someone who will roll up their sleeves and help residents in need.  We need someone who will keep the public informed, someone who will continue to fight against BESS, fight for election integrity, and we need someone who understands our county’s budget and who will fight to keep your property taxes as low as possible. I am the man for the job, and I thank you in advance for your vote.
