Why am I running for office?

Like most of you, I am greatly concerned by the liberal agenda and the direction that Joe Biden is taking our nation. I’m disgusted and feed up with “woke” cancel culture, false claims of systemic racism, and the Left’s hypocrisy, election fraud, and wasteful spending that is fueling inflation and adding to an already massive national debt. We’re all being affected by higher costs for just about everything, even here in Kerr County. But I am truly sickened by this administration’s open borders policy and the impact it is having on Texans with the inflow of millions of illegal immigrants, drugs, human traffickers, and violent criminals; and it is impacting Kerr County right now. So, we need conservatives to step up and run for every local office to reestablish conservative values at the grass roots level. And that’s why I’m coming out of retirement and running for County Commissioner.

The other reason I am running is that since retiring, I’ve been called to give back, to serve the Lord and to serve my community. So, I am a regular volunteer building homes with Habitat for Humanity in Kerrville and I’m active in my church, Hosanna Lutheran in Kerrville, where I support several of their missions. I am also active in my neighborhood where I serve as Director, Treasurer, and Chairman of the Wildlife Committee for the Hidden Hills Ranch Owners Association. And I am honored and proud to be a firefighter with the Center Point VFD. We answer the call for help any time of day or night, in any weather, risking our lives and health to serve our community. We need all of our elected officials to have this kind of commitment to serving our communities.
