Joe Biden’s open border policies have incentivized illegal border crossings, with more than 2.3 million illegal aliens crossing the southwest border this federal fiscal year. While I applaud Govenor Greg Abbott’s declaration of an invasion, until our Governor actually removes illegals back across the border and out of the country, nothing will change. Illegal immigrants will continue to cross our border. The cartels will continue to make billions of dollars each year from smuggling drugs, human trafficking and charging each of the millions of immigrants to cross our border illegally! It is clear that Biden and his administration will do nothing to address the border crisis. Texas needs to finish the wall and strengthen our border security efforts. However, the single most important thing that we must do to stop the crisis is to start deporting all invaders who are apprehended. This is the only thing that will slow down illegal immigration as it will take away all incentive to try to come illegally.

The Center for Renewing America said, “While this sounds good—Governor Abbott has not invoked the full authority of an invasion declaration. Saying you’re being invaded but not blocking the invaders from coming is a hollow shell.”

Until Governor Abbott removes illegals back across the border and out of the country, this declaration is nothing more than a P.R. stunt. Texas deserves far better!
