Flat Rock Park Memorial Cross Returns

    Dear Friends,

Preparations and repairs are complete. The memorial cross is returning to Flat Rock Park on Friday, November 6! It will arrive around noon and will be resurrected shortly thereafter.

Michael Collins has completed the repairs, including adding a new 6′ piece of steel pipe to the bottom of the cross where the July 16th flood bent it over (but didn’t break it). He is transporting it back from Mineral Wells.

The base, with its 8′ section of steel casing underground, had shifted about 5 degrees from vertical and had to be brought back to vertical. We then added a large 8′ concrete footer to help it withstand any future flood events.

My thanks to J3 Company, who provided the concrete and who are providing a telescopic lift to set the cross in place on Friday.

Ceremony: A brief ceremony will be held around 3:00 pm on Friday, Nov. 6th to celebrate the return of the memorial cross. It will serve as a testament to our resilience. We are Hill Country Strong! Come out and join us in prayer that this symbol of our resilience and faith will last for decades to come.

Visit my Facebook page for more details and some good photos.

    Hope to see you there!
