If you live on a private road that sustained significant damage from the flood, please reach out to me with your name, address, location of the damage along with a photo or two. I will come by and take a look and see if we can help.
Our amazing Road and Bridge Department has their hands full repairing all of the county roads that were damaged. However, several construction companies and heavy equipment operators have offered to help us in our time of need with PRIVATE ROAD repair. They are donating their time and equipment to help repair private roads and at least make them passable for now.
The photo above shows Tierra Grande, a private road off Ranchero Road in Kerrville south. It's far from the river and any creek, but due to the heavy rains and saturated ground, their road has major wash outs. I was barely able to get my 4-wheel drive truck down the road and up the hill at a crawl. I already have one equipment operator committed to helping to repair the road and clean up all the rock that came down the slope into one resident's yard.
I need to know now while we have these wonderful volunteers coming in to help. Text my county phone 830-343-9107 with your details and we'll see what can be done.
I will be out all day today and this coming week conducting damage assessments.
